Kyra Miniturn Sedgwick is a popular American actor on film and TV for many years. She is well-known all over the world, and in particular America for her lead role in the TV The Closer's series. Sedgwick was attracted to performing, art and Broadway ever since she was at the age of 12. Sedgwick got her first introduction to Broadway by her mother. Sedgwick's first role as an actor was on a TV show named 'Another World. It was when she was just 16 years old. Though she initially began with tiny-time television roles, it was the thought of becoming an actress who intrigued her. She got noticed on the big-screen for the first time with her supporting role in the movie 'Born on July 4th', where she co-starred alongside Tom Cruise. After the success of this movie, Sedgwick got more roles in films such as "Singles," "Heart and Souls", 'Phenomenon' among others. Her husband, actor Kevin Bacon met her in the television film "Lemon Sky.. The couple got married when they were 22. Sedgwick became a household name in American television for her outstanding performance on "The Closer" which was a seven-season television show that won her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
