Allison Brooks Janney is an American actor born on the 19th of November, 1959. Her performance on screen and stage have been praised over her long career. Janney is the recipient of numerous awards. The most notable are an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award as well as several others. Also, she received the seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Also, there were nominations of two Tony Awards. Janney came from Boston but was brought up close to Dayton in Ohio. She was awarded a scholarship to take classes in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after she graduated from Kenyon College. Janney's television debut was in 1999. She played C. J. Cregg in NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 until 2006). She received 4 Primetime Emmy Awards for the role. Janney received the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding Actresses In Drama Series. She won this award for her role as Margaret Scully in Showtime's drama Masters of Sex. Janney has been recognized for Six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she took home two awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy series.
